Program Dates:
July - August 2, 2024

Hours:
Monday - Friday from 7:30 am - 1:30 pm

The Teacher is a specialist in ELA, Mathematics or STEM. The teacher provides high-level support and engaging instruction to students. Teaching positions are based upon enrollment and funding. Teachers with ESL endorsements are preferred.

Teaching positions based upon enrollment (minimum 10 students) and funding.


$40.00 per hour (Contingent upon funding)

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND CURRICULAR LINKAGES:

  • Create a fun, engaging and safe learning environment for 6-8 students
  • Implement a district summer learning curriculum to 68 students focused on ELA, Mathematics, and STEAM
  • Provide direct service for whole group, small group, and individual instruction based on student needs
  • Administer and interpret educational assessments
  • Implement a range of effective math and ELA evidencedbased instructional strategies and interventions
  • Differentiate instruction by developing, selecting and modifying instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students
  • Promote a classroom atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of all students
  • Monitor and evaluate student outcomes maintaining appropriate records and following all required procedures and practices
  • Participate fully in a professional community including common planning, professional development, and selfreflection/evaluation
  • Supervise students in a range of settings; protect and promote the safety and wellbeing of students, colleagues, equipment, materials/ facilities
  • Communicate and interact appropriately and professionally with students, colleagues, parents and the community
  • Promote a school atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of all students
  • Continuously develop and evolve teaching practice and support colleagues in their development
  • Must commit to working all days of program

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Education from an accredited teacher education program
  • Prior experience in in delivering high quality, standardsbased Mathematics, ELA or STEAM instruction in a fun and engaging manner, experience in urban setting preferred
  • Ability differentiate and scaffold instruction to support and accelerate learning
  • An assetbased view of diverse cultures and a belief in growth mindset
