The Role
- Develop and implement program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, lean manufacturing concepts, and sixsigma tools and analyses. Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electromechanical systems. Investigates problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies. Interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met. Recommends corrective actions, dispositions and modifications. Ability to obtain a DoD Clearance is required.
Must Have - Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience
- One of the following may be used as equivalent to Bachelor's Degree to meet minimum qualifications:
- NNS Apprentice School graduate
- Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
- Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant nonexempt experience
- Military Paygrade E5 or above military experience
- High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
- High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant nonexempt experience
Nice to Have
- Management Experience
- Quality Assurance Inspector/Auditor
- Analytical with RCA Experience
- Experienced shipbuilder
- Potential of 75% of the day on the deckplate
- Planning/Scheduling experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- DDMS, SAP, QUAAD, SWiMS and COGNOS knowledge is a plus
- Able to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Able to take on additional projects outside of daily expectations
