    What Will You Do?

As a Financial Senior Auditor II (Financial Senior II) you will serve an important role in improving California government by leading teams of auditors on the annual audit that determines whether California's multi-billion dollar financial statements are fairly stated.

    • Monitor, plan, direct and manage projects while ensuring that resource allocation, staff performance, and timelines meet expectations. Make timely, informed decisions that account for facts, objectives, and risks.
    • Oversee the planning of audit activities for multiple team members and determine whether plans are consistent with audit objectives and auditing standards.
    • Perform quality control over work products to ensure information is accurate, clear, and balanced and complies with auditing standards.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert on key accounting standards and train staff on emerging issues that contribute to their growth and development.
    • Oversee the development of thorough and accurate internal control audit reports to present audit findings and recommendations.
    • Communicate effectively internally with staff and management and externally with auditee staff to obtain necessary information for audits.
