In this role, you will be responsible for crafting and updating a library of style content, including product recommendations and shopping guides.

The role requires a high level of attention to detail, the ability to pitch compelling story ideas, and in-depth knowledge of SEO best practices, plus the wherewithal to imbue stories with expertise and a point-of-view.

This role reports to GQ Recommends' Senior Commerce Editor.


Primary ResponsibilitiesWrite sharp, lively shopping content on a weekly basis, ensuring brand guidelines, SEO, and affiliate best practices are met.- Maintain a library of shopping guides, working with editors and writers to research and test products, perform competitive analysis, and write updates. Use data to make reasoned decisions regarding the most valuable stories to pursue, and help support in measuring and reporting of data and analytics in commerce publishing.- Help lead GQ's special shopping packages and tentpole coverage events, including shopping holidays like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Amazon Prime Day.- Liaise with other GQ editors, external PR, and help build and support excellent brand and retailer partnerships.- Consistently push our coverage to be engaging, relevant, and unique.- Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications2+ years writing on deadline in a digital media environment, relevant commerce experience preferred- Impeccable editorial judgment, with an ability to capture GQ's voice and tone- A geekdom for style of all stripes, including the menswear labels regularly covered by GQ Recommends- Strong organizational skills, self-directed work style, and polished communication skills- Familiarity with affiliate link programs such as Skimlinks and/or Amazon- Knowledge of the commerce media landscape and SEO best practices


Base Salary:
$65,000 - $77,000
