We have an exciting opportunity for a
Director of Life Enrichment Independent Living to join our team at
Carriage Inn Conroe.

Must have or be able to obtain within six months MEPAP Certification. The Director of Life Enrichment creates a fun, active lifestyle for our residents.

Planning and coordinating all events and activities as well as communicating with residents, families, and other departments regarding what is scheduled and when is an integral part of this position.

Shifts:


  • 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.


  • Monday

  • Friday
  • May be required to work other hours to support events.
  • Weekends and holidays in MOD rotation.

Responsibilities:


  • Respond to the needs of residents, families, and visitors by providing immediate and courteous assistance.
  • Develop a plan of activities and events that adhere to company programming standards and that are appropriate to resident needs and will enrich and engage them in:
  • Group social activities
  • Indoor and outdoor activities
  • Events away from the community (excluding memory care residents)
  • Exercise activities
  • Spiritual events and attendance at houses of worship
  • Participate in all activities and events.
  • Organize, plan, and coordinate all events with other community departments assuring proper advance notice of resource needs such as food and beverages, tables and chairs, bus availability, etc. Engage Executive Director to resolve any conflicts.
  • Assure sufficient supplies are onhand, prepared, and ready for every activity and event.
  • Schedule subordinates, if any, as needed for assistance with events and activities.
  • Responsible for recruiting, training, and scheduling volunteers as appropriate, assuring they meet the company's background standards for working with our residents.
  • Schedule entertainment from known, reliable resources to assure positive outcomes.
  • Produce monthly calendars and newsletters.
  • Responsible for assuring that the Life Enrichment department operates within the established monthly and annual budget constraints.
  • Coordinates with other departmental leaders to identify and properly charge for resources provided for resident activities.
  • Negotiate favorable rates with outside vendors for entertainment and other needs for events.
  • Submit all invoices and receipts timely for processing and payment.
  • If subordinates are present, responsible for the management of Assistants in Life Enrichment, including:
  • Scheduling of hours and days for each team member and assigning appropriate tasks.
  • Participating in the hiring process and making recommendations for hiring.
  • Evaluating team performance and providing coaching or counseling as needed.
  • Always maintain professional attitude and appearance and good personal hygiene per company policies.
  • Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the company's Code of Business Conduct, appropriate professional standards, and applicable state/federal laws.
  • Member of the community's emergency response team.
  • Assists with special projects or tasks.
  • Participate in the community's Manager on Duty rotation.

Requirements:


  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 23 years related experience.
  • Must have valid driver's license in state of community with a driving record that meets company and insurance provider's requirements.
  • Ability to work with and supervise others as an effective team builder and team player.
  • Ability to effectively evaluate performance and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, set priorities, organize work, and make independent decisions.
  • Working knowledge of computer programs including Microsoft programs; PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with graphic and presentation software for use with calendars and
