A current herbicide Equipment Applicator License issued by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture is REQUIRED for this position.
A Class "A" CDL license is required prior to being hired for this position.
This position may be filled as a Detail to Special Duty or a Probationary appointment requiring 12-24 months on probation.

Minimum Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience in mobile equipment operations.
NOTE:
May be required to possess a valid Louisiana Class D Chauffeurs Driver's License or a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with or without a tanker endorsement.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
- Direct supervision from Roadside Development District Coordinator during spraying season and from a foreman or other higherlevel maintenance, supervisory or administrative personnel.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
- Functional supervision over mobile equipment operators connected with the herbicide equipment.
LOCATION OF WORK:
- Department of Transportation and Development. Other locations may be approved by SCS.

Note:
Operation of spray truck or other spray equipment using protective clothing, boots, gloves and/or respirators when necessary will be the primary and recurring functions of the job.
Ensures proper herbicides are utilized for each vegetative maintenance area and procedure in accordance with requirements of the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and chemical label.
Operate the required spray equipment and truck to ensure the proper rate of herbicide is being applied in accordance with the label and other special factors.
Makes minor repairs to equipment and performs user maintenance necessary to keep equipment in clean, good working order.
Maintain all records pertaining to the spraying of herbicides.
