The Buyer I is responsible for processing orders out of Quantum. Work with the vendors and FDH sales teams to resolve issues that arise from their orders being placed.

Negotiate cost savings and improve lead times where possible and ensure that LTA purchasing templates are completed in a timely manner.

The Buyer I will need to ensure that orders placed are scheduled properly to conserve cash and adhere to customers' needs dates.


Responsibilities:


  • Process Pos out of Quantum for Adhoc, LTA, and replenishment needs
  • Work with vendors and sales team to resolve issues with orders
  • Negotiate cost savings and improved lead times
  • Ensure LTA items are placed in a timely manner
  • Work special projects as needed such as push/cancel lists
  • Establish beneficial/advantageous relationships with current and new suppliers
  • Provide technical/product knowledge when required, cross reference/equivalent sourcing
  • Provide customer bill of material and drawing review to identify required material
  • Update and manage product, part number and pricing information on company software system

Basic Qualifications:


  • High school graduate or GED or equivalent experience, required
  • 13 years of buyer experience in the aerospace or electronic components industry is helpful
  • Experience with an ERP system and must be able to learn company proprietary software
  • An understanding of and working knowledge of aerospace quality management practices and AS9120 requirements is helpful
  • Must be a strong and intelligent negotiator
  • A selfmotivated and quick learner with the ability to multitask in a highpressure environment
  • Sharp attention to detail, attentiveness, and accuracy are of utmost importance
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and diplomacy
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Experience organizing/coordinating multiple projects
  • Must be computer savvy and learn company proprietary software programs
  • Must be able to convey written and verbal instructions
