Overview:


The Maintenance Technician 3 provides an advanced level of skill in maintaining Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) buildings, grounds, equipment, and utilities as directed.

S/He performs hospital maintenance as required by the preventative maintenance program, or as directed.


This maintenance includes:
plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, and light construction. Maintains records as appropriate and prepares requisitions as required for assignments. S/He will assist the others as may be required in specific repairs. Mentors the Maintenance Technician 1 & 2 positions. Assumes the Lead Maintenance Technician role in their absence.


Responsibilities:


Operations

  • Demonstrates the ability to use basic tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to read and follow the instructions on manuals and safety data sheets.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work in cold and wet weather during snow removal.
  • Demonstrates the ability to maintain a clean work site, responsibly manage tools, equipment, vehicles and maintain common work areas to department expectations.
  • Demonstrates the ability to adjust their schedule to accommodate the needs of the hospital, including oncall when afterhours work is required.
  • Completes and documents assigned work orders and repair calls in a timely manner so as to minimize any negative impact upon the patient care environment.
  • Performs repairs and modifications to facility equipment and property structures.
  • Collaborates with service providers to resolve issues/problems outside of the department's scope.
  • Safely operates snow removal equipment and other motor vehicles.
  • Coordinates equipment relocation and office moves.

Code Response

  • Demonstrates the ability to remain calm and perform duties when responding to code calls.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of hospital layout and department names.

Mentor

  • Mentors the Maintenance Technician 1 & 2 positions.

Compliance/Safety

  • Responsible for reporting any safetyrelated incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safetyrelated training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.
  • Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.
  • If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are uptodate and valid prior to expiration dates.
  • Completes all company mandatory modules and required jobspecific training in the specified time frame.

Qualifications:

Education
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)-Required

Trade Apprenticeship, Trade School, or 7 years of equivalent experience

Certification & Licensures
OSHA 10
  • Required
within 90 days of hire

OSHA - Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response

  • Preferred

Experience
Minimum 7 years healthcare maintenance experience

  • Required
Healthcare is a rapidly changing environment and technology is integrated into almost all aspects of patient care. Computers and other electronic devices are utilized across the organization and throughout each department. Colleagues must have an understanding of computers, and competence in using computers and basic software programs.
