Overview:
The Maintenance Technician 3 provides an advanced level of skill in maintaining Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) buildings, grounds, equipment, and utilities as directed.
This maintenance includes:
plumbing, masonry, carpentry, painting, and light construction. Maintains records as appropriate and prepares requisitions as required for assignments. S/He will assist the others as may be required in specific repairs. Mentors the Maintenance Technician 1 & 2 positions. Assumes the Lead Maintenance Technician role in their absence.
Responsibilities:
Operations
- Demonstrates the ability to use basic tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Demonstrates the ability to read and follow the instructions on manuals and safety data sheets.
- Demonstrates the ability to work in cold and wet weather during snow removal.
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain a clean work site, responsibly manage tools, equipment, vehicles and maintain common work areas to department expectations.
- Demonstrates the ability to adjust their schedule to accommodate the needs of the hospital, including oncall when afterhours work is required.
- Completes and documents assigned work orders and repair calls in a timely manner so as to minimize any negative impact upon the patient care environment.
- Performs repairs and modifications to facility equipment and property structures.
- Collaborates with service providers to resolve issues/problems outside of the department's scope.
- Safely operates snow removal equipment and other motor vehicles.
- Coordinates equipment relocation and office moves.
Code Response
- Demonstrates the ability to remain calm and perform duties when responding to code calls.
- Demonstrates knowledge of hospital layout and department names.
Mentor
- Mentors the Maintenance Technician 1 & 2 positions.
Compliance/Safety
- Responsible for reporting any safetyrelated incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safetyrelated training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.
- Stays current and complies with state and federal regulations/statutes and company policies that impact the employee's area of responsibility.
- If required for the position, ensures all certifications and/or licenses are uptodate and valid prior to expiration dates.
- Completes all company mandatory modules and required jobspecific training in the specified time frame.
Qualifications:
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)-Required
Trade Apprenticeship, Trade School, or 7 years of equivalent experience

Certification & Licensures
OSHA 10
- Required
OSHA - Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response
- Preferred
Experience
Minimum 7 years healthcare maintenance experience
