The Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology and Automation IPA is one of the largest institutes of the Fraunhofer Society. The institute's research focuses on organizational and technological tasks in production. We develop, test and implement methods, components and devices as well as complete machines and systems. The institute's research is oriented towards the economic production of sustainable and personalized products.

In this position at the Mannheim location, you will be primarily responsible for managing the server infrastructure of the department "Clinical Health Technologies". The administration is carried out in close cooperation with the main IT department at the parent institute, Fraunhofer IPA in Stuttgart. The tasks include the administration of server systems and local network infrastructure at the location, the management of workstations as well as measurement and laboratory computers for all employees, ensuring a continuous backup approach and IT security measures, and managing our VoIP telephone system clients.

What you will do

Administration of our local servers (Windows) and print servers, administration of virtual machines (license server/application server and primarily Linux-based simulation servers)

Ensuring backups for critical systems
