    Job Description

    Job DescriptionPerforms MIG welding. Will be working in various departments welding metal components together to fabricate or repair products, parts, etc. according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders.Essential Functions:
    • Welds metal parts together using appropriate processes and performing related tasks such as cutting and grinding.
    • Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications using measuring instruments.
    • Safe operation and usage of various power tools.
    • Adherence to company policies, processes, and procedures.
    • Perform quality checks using measurement tools.
    • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
    • Works under minimal supervision on duties and tasks that are frequently non-routine, adapting procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs.
    • Understands and complies with all safety policies and procedures.
    • Utilizes PPE while performing welding operations to include an apron or front covering for torso protection.
    • While in the workplace, responsible for safety, quality, and housekeeping. Required Qualifications:
    • Equivalent combination of work experience and Trade School training
    • Must be able to pass a practical welding test.
    • A basic understanding of various measuring tools and layout techniques.
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Good communication skills, good basic mathematical skills, and good analytical abilities.
    • Good teamwork skills, meet quality requirements, flexible, and able to meet and maintain performance standards.
    • Must be flexible with required working hours, including overtime.
    • Must be flexible within the department and willing to flex to other departments as needed.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • A minimum of six months to one year of MIG welding experience
    Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds to shoulder level.
    • Occasionally bends and stoops.
    • Must be able to withstand a minimum of 8 to 10 hours standing on a concrete surface.
    • Must wear applicable and proper protective equipment including, but not limited to: welding hood, protective eye and/or hearing equipment and long sleeves to safely perform job duties.
    • Will occasionally be exposed to chemicals, dust, heat, cold, gas, and/or fumes.
    • Must be able to adjust physically to normal plant environmental conditions (above moderate heat and cold) and to adapt quickly to physical applications requiring varying motor skills.
