Aventon is seeking a dynamic and experienced IT Director to lead our IT department and drive the strategic direction of our technology initiatives.

The IT Director will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of our e-commerce platform, backend integrations, ERP system and IT infrastructure.

This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and business acumen, as the IT Director will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations and Finance, to support Aventon's growth and success.


Responsibilities:


  • Ecommerce

Platform Management:

Lead the management and optimization of Aventon's e-commerce platform, particularly on the Shopify platform, to enhance the online shopping experience and drive sales growth.


  • Backend Integration: Architect and implement seamless integrations between Aventon's website and backend systems, including but not limited to Order Management Systems (OMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management system(TMS), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

Backend Development:

Oversee frontend and backend development efforts to address ongoing bugs, implement new features, and ensure the stability and performance of Aventon's website.


  • Team Leadership and Management: Manage a team of developers, designers, and IT professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to drive performance and foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.

Functional Collaboration:

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations and Finance, to understand business requirements, align technology initiatives with organizational goals, and drive strategic projects to success.


  • Technology Strategy and Innovation: Develop and execute a technology roadmap that aligns with Aventon's business objectives, leveraging emerging technologies and best practices to enhance our competitive position and support future growth.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external technology vendors, service providers, and partners, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery of quality solutions and services.
  • IT Governance and Compliance: Establish and enforce IT governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data security, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation across Aventon's IT infrastructure and systems.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT leadership roles, with a proven track record of success in ecommerce, backend integration, and web development.
  • Extensive experience with ecommerce platforms, preferably Shopify, including setup, customization, and optimization.
  • Strong technical expertise in frontend and backend development, with proficiency in languages and frameworks such as HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and relevant backend technologies (e.g., , PHP).
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate crossfunctional teams to achieve common goals.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders and build strong relationships across the organization.
  • Strategic thinking and problemsolving abilities, with a resultsoriented mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Experience collaborating with Operations and Finance teams in a crossfunctional environment is highly desirable.
