Financial Controller


The Austin Centers is a state certified special education school for kindergarten through twelfth grade (K-12) special needs students ranging in age from five to twenty-two.

The Austin Centers has been established to provide an environment in which the pursuit of instructional effectiveness and learning is valued for students with emotional disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism or pervasive developmental delays, specific learning disabilities, and other educational challenges.

The Austin Centers provides its unique instructional opportunity on six campuses, in Peoria, West Phoenix, Tempe, Gilbert, Littleton, and Paradise Valley, Arizona.

We are looking for a Financial Controller to join our excellent team


Job Details:


Salary:
$120k + bonus eligible


Reports to:
Christine (VP of Finance)

Manager to: 1-2 Direct Reports


Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the financial operations of our organization
  • Encompass financial reporting, compliance, and strategic financial analysis
  • Provide leadership to the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial information to support decisionmaking processes at all levels of the organization
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial data and reports
  • Present financial results to senior management and provide insights into key performance indicators
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance team, providing guidance and support in their professional growth
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance department

Qualifications:


  • CPA
  • Minimum of 3 years experience with monthend close process to include reconciliations and financial statement analysis
  • BS/BA degree in a Business Field
  • Experience analyzing large data sets
  • Experience with cash management, including cash forecasting
  • Strong Excel skills to include high proficiency in pivot tables, lookups, If statements, etc
  • Proficient in GL and transactional accounting

Pay:
$120,000.00 per year
