    The position is primarily responsible for providing accounts payable and general accounting services to the company beef distribution line of business, and related cattle operations.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Monitor email folders.
    • Process check payables and assist with wire payables, including obtaining and attaching approvals.
    • Set up auto pays for accounts.
    • Process deposits.
    • Invoice customers as product is shipped.
    • Reconcile inventory activity (receipt to stock / order fulfillment) and assign costing.
    • Review AR aging reports and follow-up for payments, as necessary.
    • Post payments, ACH.
    • Breakout credit card statements by GL account.
    • Prepare and enter journal entries as needed (example Inventory Adjustment)
    • Prepare month-end close schedules.
    • Assist with preparation of annual budget.
    • Ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned.


    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS REQUIRED

    • Accounting Associates degree and 4-5 years related working experience.
    • Personal computer, MS Office
    • Experience in food manufacturing/service/distribution industry and related software programs (Aspen Canopy, etc.) a plus
    • Basic understanding of the need for proper controls
    • Ability to multi-task
    • Detail oriented, accurate
    • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
