Duties:


The duties of a baggage acceptance agent or VBC (vendor behind counter) include; assisting airline passengers with self-tagged luggage from airline kiosks, asking safety/security related questions, and transporting checked baggage to specified areas of the airport & lifting checked baggage on and off weight scales and baggage belt(s).

Agents may also be required to transport checked baggage from a designated x-ray/screening machine to the baggage belts. Some baggage may need to be loaded into tubs on the baggage belt as well. Agents also must maintain and replenish a supply of baggage tubs for the conveyor belts at all times.


While performing the duties of this job, employees are frequently required to walk & stand for extended periods of time and must be able to repetitively lift and/or move items up to, and some times exceeding 50 lbs.

Lastly, VBC agents may also assist passengers with disabilities and or elderly passengers needing wheelchair assistance from the ticket counter to the gate(s) or from the gate(s) to the baggage claim & arrival areas of the airport, if needed.


Available Shift(s): 04:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Qualifications:


  • Applicants must have a valid drivers license or state ID and be able to pass a federal background check
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be able to physically perform required work, including heavy and repetitive lifting
  • Professional appearance
  • Customer service skills
  • Dependable, self motivated and responsible
  • Ability to work a flexible, rotating schedule, including early mornings, afternoons and weekends
