The Role:
The Infrastructure team at G-Research is in search of an AWS Cloud Engineer, focusing on Cloud Networking, to join our rapidly growing global team in Dallas.
As an AWS Cloud Networking Engineer, your main responsibilities will involve designing, implementing, and managing our global network infrastructure within AWS.
This pivotal role is dedicated to ensuring high availability and strong connectivity throughout our network, meeting the operational requirements and strategic objectives of the company.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the internal expert on AWS Networking
- Creating scalable, reliable, and secure network architectures within the AWS ecosystem
- Working closely with security teams to enforce network security measures and ensure compliance with internal policies
- Collaborating with consumer teams to establish and enhance network patterns based on application needs
- Automating network deployments and operations through scripting languages like Python, and tools like AWS CloudFormation and Terraform
- Regularly evaluating network performance, addressing bottlenecks, and proposing optimization solutions
- Developing and managing disaster recovery strategies, and participating in routine DR testing to ensure swift responses to network issues
- Monitoring network expenses and implementing cost-saving strategies to optimize spending
- Keeping updated on AWS networking updates and service offerings, providing recommendations to stakeholders

Who we are seeking:
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and experience:
- Over 3 years of cloud networking experience, with a focus on AWS
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, like Python or Golang
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools; at least one of Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
- Familiarity with configuring Palo Alto firewalls is advantageous
- Strong expertise in AWS networking tools and services, such as VPCs, Direct Connect, Private Link, Transit Gateway, and Route53
- Sound understanding of cloud computing principles, architectures, and AWS services
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and engaging with stakeholders from various departments
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple projects concurrently
- AWS certifications, like AWS Certified Advanced Networking, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, are highly preferred
- Experience with CloudWan is also highly desirable
