    Position Title: Cloud Security Engineer (AWS)

    Location: Charlotte, NC; Malvern, PA; Dallas, TX (preferred); Scottsdale, AZ

    Position Status: Contract to Hire and Direct Hire (multiple positions open)

    Position Description:

    Our client is looking for Cloud Security Engineer (AWS) candidates for a hybrid position (in office Tuesday – Thursday) located in either Charlotte, NC; Malvern, PA; Dallas, TX (preferred); Scottsdale, AZ. The chosen candidate will work on the Cloud Infrastructure team finding vulnerabilities. We are seeking strong AWS experience and security experience - Vulnerability Management, Security Assurance, Cloud Security Engineering, or DevSecOps.

    The ideal candidate will have the following:

    • knowledge of security risk oversight, CVSS (Common Vulnerability Scoring System), CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures), and technical security vulnerability remediation/mitigation
    • experience analyzing cloud infrastructure vulnerability data to understand and communicate risks, concerns and outcomes of decisions.
    • experience working with AWS EC2s (or Azure VMs), as well as Container (Kubernetes / EKS) and image security scanning.
    • knowledge of cloud infrastructure hardening – such as validating EC2 Operating Systems against CIS benchmarks, or detecting security misconfigurations with EKS deployments

    Responsibilities:

    • cloud security assessment tools (CNAPP/CWPP/CSPM) to monitor cloud assets for vulnerabilities and security configuration weaknesses.
    • with the SOC, Cyber Threat Intel, Red Team, and other stakeholders to refine prioritization, to validate impact of suspected vulnerabilities, to advise owners on mitigation strategies or compensating controls, and to provide accurate & timely reporting that informs remediation progress.
    • false-positives and requests for risk-acceptance or risk-rating adjustment.
    • by security architects & SMEs, implement cloud security controls – both oobox and custom.
    • remediation SLAs, build-breaking policies, and other enforcement controls & guardrails.
    • zero-day events, quickly iterate through VM lifecycle – creatively handle time-sensitive escalations, develop new types of reports, and perform special investigations.
    • with Engineering platform team to tune scanning tools to improve visibility and to meet additional security objectives.
    • on continuous process improvement and identify opportunities for automation, fusion of disparate sources of security findings, and consistency of remediation owner experience.

    Required Education:

    An undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.

    Required Skills:

    • of 5 years related work experience required, including experience with cloud security engineering, cloud vulnerability management, or general cloud cyber security.
    • knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP.
    • a highly motivated, independently driven, astute problem-solver.
    • of information security and vulnerability analysis.

    Desired Skills:

    • passion for continuous learning.
    • with scripting and automation.
    • with Aqua, Palo Alto Prisma, Wiz, CrowdStrike, Tenable Nessus, or Qualys preferred.
    • of Kubernetes preferred.
    • with risk controls and interacting with internal/external audit preferred.
