Description
Head Start is looking for a Full Time Preschool Teacher/Site Facilitator. This position will involve being with up to 17 children for 27.5 hours each week.

Additionally, the teacher will have 12.5 hours per week to create lesson plans, assess children, attend IEP meetings, receive coaching, and prepare your classroom.

2 hours per week will be dedicated to Site Facilitator responsibilities including running weekly staff meetings, approving timesheets, ensuring all licensing requirements are being met, addressing all site-related issues pertaining to health and safety, and planning center events with the engagement of center staff.


Essential Functions:


  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a highquality learning environment following the NH State Child Care Licensing Rules, Head Start Performance Standards, NAEYC Accreditation Standards, The Pyramid Observation Tool (TPOT), The Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) and all SCS Head Start Policies and Procedures.
  • Responsible for Curriculum Development planning, preparing, and implementing the Creative Curriculum to fidelity while supporting children's interests and integrating emergent curriculum.
  • Responsible for all screenings, assessments, and American Disabilities Act. Work collaboratively with the Teacher Assistant and center staff to administer ESI screenings and meet all child screening deadlines. Observe children and record child observations into TS Gold to fidelity daily. Collaborate with the Teacher to initiate and participate in Child and Family Reviews, Care Planning Learning, Parent Teacher Conferences, and Home Visits. Assist the teacher with following IEPs.
  • Responsible for being a professional by participating in Preservice, Post-Service, Professional Development opportunities, monthly Education Services Meetings, Classroom Monthly Report meetings, and weekly Center Staff meetings. Demonstrate the ability to build meaningful, collaborative relationships with all children, families, SCS staff and any other community partners on or off site or in the classroom.
  • Responsible for abiding by the NAEYC Code of Ethics
  • Responsible for performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Responsible for monitoring, addressing, and facilitating all environmental siterelated issues pertaining to the health and safety of children, families, and staff. Also ensures that the entire facility is clean and organized.
  • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring all licensing requirements are being met and followed; SCS Head Start Policies and Procedures are being introduced at weekly center staff meetings and reviewed, are adhering to Active Supervision, and are conducting the Daily Safety Checklist.
  • Responsible for approving staff timecards, facilitating weekly center staff meetings, using the center staff meeting agenda template, and, as the Team Leader, planning center events with the engagement of the entire center staff.

Desired Qualifications:


  • A minimum of a baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education awarded by a regionally accredited college or university; including at least 3 credits in the following core knowledge area: Child Growth and Development
  • Or a baccalaureate or advanced degree and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education such as elementary education, child development or another field of study focused on children awarded by a regionally accredited college or university; and have passed the Praxis II or have 24 Early Childhood Credits including at least 3 credits in the following core knowledge area: Child Growth and Development
  • Must be able to produce documentation of education before the start date.
  • Classroom experience with preschool children (Head Start experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with NAEYC Best Practices and the Head Start Standards a plus.
