Job Summary:
The Web Content Specialist is responsible for creating, editing, and managing content for websites, ensuring that it is accurate, engaging, and aligns with the organization's objectives.
The duration is 6 months or more and must be located in the Chicago area as you will need to be in the office Tuesday - Thursday in our downtown Chicago location.
Responsibilities:
- Create and publish web content including exploration pages, promotion pages, seasonal pages, room and package descriptions, and multimedia elements such as images and videos.
- Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Optimize content for search engines (SEO) to improve visibility and ranking. Conduct keyword research and implement SEO strategies to enhance content discoverability.
- Constantly review website analytics and uncover new content opportunities to optimize discover and conversion
- Ensure ADA best practices are maintained throughout the content lifecycle
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including marketing, design, and development to align content with overall strategy and goals.
- Monitor website performance using analytics tools and adjust content strategies accordingly.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in web content management and digital marketing.
- Maintain consistency in tone, style, and messaging across all web platforms.
- Identify opportunities for content optimization and improvement based on user feedback and data analysis.
- Manage content calendars and schedules to ensure timely publication and updates.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in web content management, preferably in a corporate or agency setting.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) such as Adobe, WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, or Moz.
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a customerfocused mindset.
- Creative thinking and problemsolving abilities to generate innovative content ideas.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web design principles is a plus.
- Portfolio of previous work demonstrating writing and content management skills.
- High attention to detail is critical.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience having an eye for design and photography
- Understanding of content and image optimization
- Passionate about Digital Story Telling
