We have an exciting opportunity for an
Associate Merchandiser in
Salisbury, MD.

This is a rotational position to give full exposure to all merchandising areas; including grain, oil, and soybeans.
The core responsibility for this role is to assist in the marketing of grain, oilseeds, protein meal, and vegetable oils into the domestic market.

This position will also assist in the coordination of the administrative and logistic programs related to sales.

In this role, you will also be involved in the full chain of events post-sales from contract entry through contract execution to payment/final contract settlement.

Individual works in close coordination with the trading team and third-party service providers; including truckers, freight forwarders container lines/NVOCCs.


Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist merchandisers in the purchase of grain, oilseeds, protein meal, and vegetable oils
  • Be the point of contact for customers and suppliers for all logistics and documentationrelated matters
  • Keep all customers informed of the status of shipments
  • Prepare various reports to include; average basis, USDA, C&F, etc.
  • Generate and file reports for internal as well as external stakeholders
  • Assist in supply chain functions, support, and coordinate with operations, accounting, and transportation
  • Support strategic initiatives as it relates to the expansion of the business

Minimum Education:


  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements:

Able to operate a motor vehicle and travel to and from customer locations. Able to move freely about farms and other agricultural areas.

Exposed to external weather conditions including rain, snow, and extreme temperatures Degrees Fahrenheit), humidity %), and noise (50db to 100db).

Able to use standard office equipment including telephones, computers, copiers, etc. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. Some overnight travel may be required. Must be comfortable in all types of food processing and industrial environments.
