Head of SAR Escalation Team - Vice President

Whippany, NJ


As a Barclays Head of SAR Escalation Team - Vice President (VP), you will have the opportunity to manage a large team of AML Investigators and oversee and monitor SAR filing process.

You will work closely with AML process managers, overseeing the management of day-to-day activities and will also be accountable for planning and executing processes related to managing volumes and workflows in accordance with service level agreements.

What will you be doing?

  • Managing large team of AML Investigators and overseeing and monitoring SAR filing process
  • Driving productivity, efficiency and quality of all investigations and daytoday activities
  • Managing responses to internal audits and external exam requests for information
  • Handling prioritization of escalated issues as appropriate for advanced investigation and analysis
  • Assessing emerging risks and trends, internal/external regulatory recommendations against existing controls to determine appropriate actions where necessary
  • Managing risk of the AML department by proactively identifying documenting & reporting risk events in a timely manner

What we're looking for:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, over five years' AML, Financial Crime, and /or Customer Screening experience
  • Being proactive, motivated individual able to plan and prioritize own workload with minimum supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work with in a fastpaced team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Relevant professional certifications: ACAMS or CRCM
  • Five years' experience managing teams in a banking/credit card banking environment
