Description

NES Health seeks an Emergency Medicine Physician to join our practice at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center located in Roswell, New Mexico.

~ Medhost EDIS EMR (transitioning to CERNER Sept 2024)
~ Teaching hospital with medical students, APP students, Nursing students, and RadTech students.

Coverage includes:
Teleradiology
Tele Interventional Radiology
Pediatrics covered by FM physicians
Psychiatry - 25 bed adult psych unit
Anesthesiology - all CRNA team
Tele-Intensivists 24/7
Ultrasound
Hospitalist
General Surgery
Podiatry
Gastro
Cardiology (2 diagnostic and 1 interventional)
Tele Neuro 24/7
Neurology
Accredited Chest Pain Center
Certified Primary Stroke Center

About the Program and Hours
~23 Bed ED
~28,000 Annual Visit ED
~16% admission rate from ED
~18 hours/day of ED scribe coverage
~ ED writes bridge holding orders
~ ED responds to floor codes
~12-hour Physician Shifts (36 hours/day)
~12-hour APP Shifts (12 hours/day)

Qualifications
Active New Mexico license in the state or ability to attain unrestricted state license
Candidate Must be residency trained and BE/BC in EM, FM, or IM
Active BLS, ATLS, ACLS, and PALS

About the Community

Roswell, situated at the confluence of three riversthe Spring, the Hondo, the Pecoswas established in 1870 by Van Smith, although the first historically documented settlement in the area was a settlement of crude adobe huts at "Rio Hondo," the present day neighborhood of Chihuahuita.

The Roswell and Chaves County area was contained within the original homeland of the Mescalero Apaches and overlapped the hunting grounds of the Comanches and became the campsite on the Goodnight-Loving Trail, which opened in 1866.

The trail brought the ranching industry to the area, which flourishes to the present day.

Visitors to the city will find a plethora of cultural activities.

For example, museum and art lovers of every age and interest can explore four outstanding museums:

the Anderson Museum of Contemporary Art, featuring a wide ranging collection of modern art; the Roswell Museum and Art Center, with its collection of paintings by Peter Hurd, Henriette Wyeth, Georgia OKeeffe, as well as the fabulous Rogers Aston Indian Gallery; the Historical Center for Southwest New Mexico, located in the James Phelps White stately home filled with antiques, artifacts, and a changing gallery of exhibits; and the International UFO Museum, featuring UFO phenomenon exhibits and The Alien Caffeine Espresso Bar.
