    Description

    Job Title: Public Health Representative at Allegheny County Health Department



    This professional role involves work planning, promoting public health initiatives, implementing programs, and evaluating program activities. The individual will offer guidance to partners and organizations involved in program implementation and assist in developing and delivering training programs. The work is overseen by a Public Health Administrator and involves adhering to regulations and policies.

    Public Health Representatives may act as peer coaches, fostering teamwork and experiential learning. Performance is evaluated through annual assessments.

    • Duties:


  • Engage in day-to-day program activities such as meeting with community members, evaluating health information, and participating in public health events.
  • Contribute to the development of program goals, policies, and procedures, and assist in program tracking and development.
  • Collect demographic and health information, enter data, and conduct community outreach events like health fairs and partner events.
  • Educate community members, provide referrals to resources, and disseminate health materials.
  • Prepare and present training sessions, create program materials, conduct surveys, and respond to emergencies.

  • Public health practices and initiatives, computer usage, data searches, and internet and email operations.

  • Use Microsoft Office Suite applications, establish effective relationships, communicate clearly orally and in writing, deliver concise reports, exercise good judgment, and respond to emergencies.


    • Residency: Allegheny County within 1 year.
    Veterans' Preference: Eligible candidates will receive preference.
