Aerostar is looking for a logistics coordinator for our balloon flight operations group. This individual will assist the team in forward-deploying balloon operations around the world, to include site surveys, facility selection, supply management, transportation, shipping, and certifications. Their primary goal will be to ensure that our launch team has the necessary materials to enable our customers to connect, protect, and save lives. Our customers include commercial entities, NASA, and the Department of Defense. Essential Functions:

• Manage customer projects and activities
• Analyze and interpret needs related to deployments and balloon launch campaigns
• Work with internal teams to generate and maintain staging and logistical timelines to meet customer deliverables and milestones
• Enable effective communication between customers, stakeholders and Aerostars supporting project teams
• Support flight campaigns and customer events as a team lead or as a technical support specialist
• Manage vendor relationships and coordination of services
  • Examples of vendors include: shipping/freight forwarders, lift gas suppliers, vehicle/equipment rental companies, facilities used for remote operations, etc.
  • Engage vendors to generate estimates and quotations to support Aerostar proposals
  • Identify and establish relationships with alternative vendors for economical alternatives and support service negotiations
  • Identify opportunities to conduct activities in more economical or efficient means and support vendor evaluations
• Manage customer support resources and logistics
  • Manage helium reserve and usage projections, and maintain general industry awareness
  • Manage company needs for Hazmat shipment, handling, and personnel certification
  • Support management of customer support equipment that includes launch equipment and Aerostar products
  • Be familiar with and ensure compliance with Aerostars ISO requirements
• Support Aerostar launch operations as needed
  • Support planning, preparation, and execution of team deployment activities
  • Conduct surveys, meetings, and negotiations with prospective work site POCs
  • Support paperwork and logistical processes as necessary to ensure mission success in the proposal and execution phases
  • Develop and convey Aerostar requirements for forward-deployed facility support
  • Support other team members with site and equipment searches and evaluations
  • Develop shipment timelines/mobilization schedules for customer events
  • Travel as needed to support site surveys and shipment coordination
• May be required to operate a forklift, telehandler, pallet jack, or other equipment

Education & Experience

• Minimum of a bachelors degree in business, or in field related to position.
• Minimum 4 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Experience with project management, planning, or project leadership
• Experience with shipping, receiving, hazardous materials and coordinating both domestic and international freight
• Experience engaging with, negotiating services with, and evaluating the services provided by vendors
• Prior military or working with government or defense organizations preferred
• High orientation toward customer service
• Proficiency with a computer, including use of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Team player who is self-motivated, and has ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff
• Ability to be flexible, creative, and adaptable in given situations
• Ability to maintain processes, requirements, and manage risk in challenging circumstances
• Travel, both domestic and international, will be required
• US Citizenship may be required, based on position

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

Working Conditions: Exposure to a normal office environment. Position may occasionally require entering a production environment, including exposure to noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varied temperatures.
