Description:
Serve clients of the firm's Public Policy & Regulation practice group ("PP&R") as a legislative and regulatory advocate. Coordinate the firm's legislative, regulatory, and political activities and advocacy.


Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments including legislation, congressional hearings markups, congressional floor activity, regulations, and other federal policy developments.
  • Assist with research, drafting, and editing of policy documents including onepagers, hearing memos, talking points, issue briefs, congressional testimony, legislative tracking documents, and appropriations requests.
  • Send regular updates to assigned clients reporting on the latest developments on priority issues and firm successes on the client's behalf.
  • Arrange, coordinate, and conduct client meetings with legislators and other government officials under the supervision of Public Policy & Regulation professionals.
  • Organize flyin events, including preparing materials, managing attendees, and coordinating event logistics.
  • Assist with client team coordination, including tracking Capitol Hill outreach and preparing agendas and materials for regular client calls and communication.

Qualifications:

  • 13 years' experience working as an aide in a federal or state legislative office or in another significant and substantive public policy role. Strong and clear writing skills and the ability to understand and synthesize complex legislative and regulatory issues. Strong legislative and regulatory research skills, including databases such as PoliticoPro and Bloomberg Government. Understanding of political and legislative processes. Resourcefulness to obtain or retrieve pertinent information, often from arcane or obscure sources. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact positively with the wide variety of personalities encountered in governmental and political environments. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. Strong organizational ability. Ability to work in a team environment.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
