    Job Description and Duties

    Position exists in the Clinical Records Department at Porterville Developmental Center.

    Under the direction of the Health Record Technician III Supervisor.

    The Office Services Supervisor II serves as the Supervisor of the Recorder/Unit Clerks in the Clinical Records Department; plans, organizes, assigns and directs work of client Individual Program Plan Team meetings to the Recorders/Unit Clerks; resolves difficult technical issues; acts as a consultant to facility staff on IPP and filing requirements; conducts training and workshops; reviews client IPP reports for completeness; reviews unit clerk performance to ensure client records are maintained per requirements; writes reports; consults with and advises Supervisor on operational matters.

    This is a limited-term position that may be extended or may become permanent.

    This position is not eligible for telework, this position is in person only.

    Working Conditions


    TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    Must possess and maintain sufficient agility, endurance, and sensory ability to perform the duties contained in the duty statement.

    Position requires prolonged sitting, standing and extensive use of telephones, computers, and other office equipment. Incumbent will be working on a personal computer extended periods of time.


    TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
    Ongoing interaction with clients, facility personnel, and the public. Must be able to work under tight deadlines and irregular hours may be necessary. Establishes cooperative relationships with contacts and follows through on routine and detailed procedures. Accepts and fulfills increasing job responsibilities. Potential exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and other conditions common to the clinical nursing environment.

    Department Information


    The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is the agency through which the State of California provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities.

    These disabilities include intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Services are provided through state-operated developmental centers and community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers.

    The regional centers serve as a local resource to help find and access the services and supports available to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
