Description
The city of Essen is currently seeking a Media and Information Services Specialist - Archival Services for the Department 41-3 -City Archives / House of Essen History- to start as soon as possible. This is a full-time, permanent position in pay group 7 according to TVöD. The application deadline is SD and the reference number is SD. This position can also be filled with part-time employees.

The House of Essen History/City Archives is one of the most important municipal archives in North Rhine-Westphalia, with archival collections dating back to the 13th century and a diverse range of tasks. It combines three functions in one institute: the City Archives, the specialist library "City & Region", and the permanent exhibition "Essen: History of a Major City in the 20th Century". It serves as a competence center for the history of the city of Essen. The City Archives, as the nucleus and heart of the institute, provides sources from nine centuries for use. The currently approximately SD volumes of civil status registers are the most frequently used sources. The majority of incoming inquiries are related to personal matters and are answered using this collection. A team of four employees is available to process these inquiries.

You will support the team at the House of Essen History with the following tasks:
