Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant (MA)
- Take vitals
- Room patients
- Answer phone calls
- Initiate effective actions in emergencies.
- Back office duties
Requirements of the Medical Assistant
- 12 years of recent and related experience is required
- Must be able to work effectively independently, yet work together as part of a team
- Must be able to remain calm under pressure
- Proficient at taking vital signs and administering medication accordingly
- BLS certification required
- AAMA, AMT, CAAHEP, NHA, or ABHES certification as a medical assistant required
