What your job will look like:

Under the direction of the Accounts Payable Supervisor, incumbent is responsible for entering accounts payable invoices per assigned workload, auditing vouchers entered, providing exceptional customer service to our vendors, meet departmental weekly and monthly deadlines, provide assistance in other areas within the department as needed.


In this role you will:

Retrieve incoming invoices from the finance mailbox daily. Review and enter all invoices into Costpoint per assigned workload.

Communicate to external and internal customers, work closely with buyers and end users to obtain approvals and to fix purchase order discrepancies.

Independently resolve discrepancies by contacting vendors, division personnel, shipping & receiving and procurement buyers as required.
Review and audit account payable vouchers for others within the department for accuracy before posting to the general ledger
Provide payment information to vendors when needed, review vendor statements.
Provide backup for the AP Lead in their absence.
Provide updates to process manuals.
Identify and record improper payments, review/process all return to vendor requests.
Provide backup for mail retrieval and assist with making electronic bank deposits.


Qualifications We Require:

Education**:
High School Diploma


Experience:

2 Years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and specific training required.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Good working knowledge of accounting (A/P) practices and procedures.
Strong problem solving and math skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Good decision-making and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrated ability using MS Office Suite, accounting software systems, word-processing and spreadsheet software, and 10-key calculator.

Demonstrated competence in use of a personal computer including data entry skills, accounting software systems, word-processing and spreadsheet software, and 10-key calculator.

Deltek / Costpoint experience is desirable.
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills and analytical skills.
