Position Objective
To maintain the Hospital Environment in a clean and sanitary condition through disinfecting surfaces and organizing areas in an attractive manner presenting a customer focus and friendly atmosphere


Essential Job Duties:

  • Assists ES attendants with daily assignments to include assigning critical tasks that affect patient care. Oversees the activities of the ES attendants working on their floors to insure all job assignments, tasks and responsibilities are completed consistently. Monitors ES staff patient interaction and customer service delivery.
  • Verifies that scheduled staff has reported for duty, and makes adjustments to staffing pattern as needed.
  • Monitors all patient areas as assigned for cleanliness and insures that they maintain perpetual readiness for regulatory inspections.
  • Conducts patient rounds, and other quality studies on a regular basis. Interacts with patients, in a professional manner providing a customer service example for ES staff.
  • Responds to patient and nursing requests immediately acting as liaison between nursing and ES attendants.
  • Operates Spectralink phone efficiently.
  • Insures that all floors have adequate cleaning supplies.
  • Generates all required computer reports and documents as needed.
  • Provides leadership and assists if needed with the turnover of patient rooms.
  • Supervises all ES staff and department activities in the absence of the ES Supervisor and management staff.

Educational/Experience Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent certificate within one year of hire.
  • Ability to read, follow oral and written instructions.
  • A professional mannerism that would have positive outcomes on patients, visitors, staff and coworkers.

There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.


Physical Demands - Heavy

Heavy work.
Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
