The diverse areas of work for a carpenter include design, construction, manufacturing, and installation of custom-made objects for interior design. They also process and work with various wood materials such as sawn timber, veneers, composite panels, as well as plastics and other auxiliary materials.

Wood materials are cut, planed, and milled to the desired dimensions and then covered with veneers or plastic films. Surfaces are treated with techniques such as staining, painting, polishing, or coating. Tasks also include repairing furniture and laboratory equipment.
