Job Duties:

• Perform a series of manual adjustments to the spine, or other articulations of the body, in order to correct the musculoskeletal system
• Evaluate the functioning of the neuromuscularskeletal system and the spine using systems of chiropractic diagnosis
• Diagnose health problems by reviewing patients' health and medical histories; questioning, observing and examining patients; and interpreting xrays
• Maintain accurate case histories of patients
• Advise patients about recommended courses of treatment
• Analyze xrays in order to locate the sources of patients' difficulties and to rule out fractures or diseases as sources of problems
• Counsel patients about nutrition, exercise, sleeping habits, stress management, and other matters
• Arrange for diagnostic xrays to be taken
• Consult with and refer patients to appropriate health practitioners when necessary
• Perform Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE), if applicable
• Oversee work hardening, if applicable
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• Maryland Doctor of Chiropractic License
• Additional courses in physical therapy are advantageous

Additional Skills/Competencies:

Medicine - Knowledge of the information and techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases, and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures

Customer and Personal Service
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction

Therapy and Counseling
- Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions, and for career counseling and guidance


Physical/Mental Requirements:

Sitting, standing, walking, reaching above shoulder length, working with body bent over at waist, working in kneeling position, crawling, climbing stairs, climbing ladders, working with arms extended at shoulder length, lifting max.
