Area Rug Sales Manager


Rugs America, a leading provider of area rugs within Boscov's department stores, is seeking an experienced and driven Sales Manager.

In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day operations and sales performance of our area rug departments across multiple store locations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets for the area rug departments.
  • Provide coaching, training, and motivation to sales associates to ensure exceptional customer service and sales performance.
  • Conduct regular store visits (34 days per week) to monitor operations, merchandise presentation, inventory levels, and department visual standards.
  • Collaborate with Boscov's furniture department managers and sales teams to coordinate marketing efforts, promotions, and crossselling opportunities.
  • Maintain open communication with Rugs America's customer service department to address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and implement datadriven strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations within the area rug departments.

Qualifications:


  • Proven experience in retail sales management, preferably in the home furnishings or flooring industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop highperforming sales teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and using sales management software and tools.
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Flexibility to work a combination of office days (12 days per week) and store visits (34 days per week, excluding weekends).

Compensation and Benefits:


  • Competitive weekly salary of $500 per week, plus a 2% commission on sales.
  • Company vehicle or reimbursement for travel expenses incurred during store visits.
