Job Description Summary
This position is for a research specialist to assist academic researchers in performing tissue culture and molecular lab based bench work with an emphasis on cell, gene and signal based therapies for treatment of cartilage injury and prevention of joint disease at the Ortved Orthopedic Regenerative Medicine Laboratory, University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine, New Bolton Center.

Job Responsibilities
Research activities
- Perform tissue culture relevant to equine stem cells, cartilage, and synovium
- Perform basic histology laboratory procedures
- Perform molecular based assays including PCR and immunoassays
- Help PIs with preparation of reports, scientific publications and grant proposals
- Assist as needed with animal experiments
Qualifications:
Research Specialist A
- Bachelor of Science and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Bachelor of Science and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
