We have a 1⁄2 acre fenced-in playground, which is a very special feature in the heart of Milwaukee Our center is family-oriented, for both our teacher's families and those of the children we serve.

Qualified applicants may be eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus after 90 days of employment (eligibility requirements apply). Schedules are FOUR days per week, 7:30-5:30, paid holidays and no weekends

THE WORK YOU'LL DO
- Provide quality care to children with full responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of all children within an assigned group.
- Plan daily and weekly activities that are developmentally appropriate for children within an environment that allows and encourages choice for children in their selection of activities
- Maintain a classroom tone that is positive, non-stressed and of mutual respect for the child and co-workers.
- Communicate with parents regarding a variety of issues including daily activities and general concerns of the child. Write monthly newsletters and conduct teacher/parent conferences.
- Complete and maintain records and paperwork such as sign-in/out forms, medical forms, attendance sheets, accident report forms, and, if caring for infants or toddlers, daily take-home sheets and diaper charts.
- Report any and all suspected cases of child abuse including sexual abuse, neglect, emotional or physical abuse to the Director or Assistant Director. Complete an accident report form if a child arrives at the Center with any mark, including bruises, scratches, etc.
- Look for signs of illness or communicable disease that would prevent a child from remaining in care.
- Handle all aspects of lunch preparation including clean-up of dishes, tables and floor areas.
- Attend staff meetings and keep in-service and continuing education requirements up to date.
- Assign duties to student staff.
REQUIREMENTS
A high school diploma or equivalent
A minimum of one year of related experience
Ability to plan and organize activities
Strong Interpersonal Skills
Ability to demonstrate commitment to providing quality childcare
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
Associate Degree or a Bachelor of Arts degree in early childhood
Registry level above 3
Pay:
From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
