Description
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellow position in the area of computational cancer genomics and bioinformatics in the groups of Drs. Deyou Zheng & Bang Hoang at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. The project is focused on bioinformatics analysis of single cell and spatial transcriptomics data from osteosarcoma tumor tissues. We apply both mouse models and patient tumor data to study osteosarcoma development with the goal of developing novel therapeutical strategy. One of our top candidates is to target the proteosome degradation pathway. To achieve it, we use scRNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics technologies to study osteosarcoma tumor microenvironment in response to SCF-SKP2 complex functional interruption, as well as cell-based functional assays. We seek a highly motivated individual with solid skills in bioinformatics and genomics data analysis and a strong interest in collaborative work. The candidate will join a highly interactive team to leverage and further develop the team's expertise in bioinformatics and cancer biology. A Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, or related areas is required. An ideal candidate would have demonstrated expertise and track record in computational programming in python and R, genomics, statistical genetics, and bioinformatics. Knowledge of cancer and transcriptomics analysis and interest in wet-lab assays will be strong pluses. Good communication skill in English is required to be able to work with the team.
