Job Responsibilities and Expectations

Schedule M-F 8am-5pm

Pay:
Starting $17.25/hr.


  • Support youth with Autism/ASD in a manner consistent with contractual requirements and H.G.A.'s Mission and Values
- . Use Gentle Teaching principles to build and maintain positive relationships with persons served

  • Understand needs of persons served, including specific needs of individuals with Autism/ASD;
  • Implement early intensive and other behavioral analysis interventions as specified in written program plans
- . Assure that all Recipient Rights are honored, including confidentiality of verbal and written information

  • Be available as agreed, delivering services according to posted schedule
  • Create an atmosphere of value by using respectful language, offering choice, assuming competency, and creating opportunities for involvement for persons served
  • Plan and implement activities that meet individual planning objectives for assigned persons;
  • Complete necessary and required training per Contract Agency and/or Autism Waiver requirements;
- . May be required to provide transportation to individuals.

  • Provide support for preparation and planning for daily activities within center, community, and family homes in a manner that promotes cooperation and teamwork
  • Maintain and exhibit an attitude that contributes positively to work atmosphere
  • Represent H.G.A. positively at all times
  • Work cooperatively with others assigned to the same children
  • Assist with set up of training site/room; e. Ensure all necessary items are available when providing services away from center; f. Sanitize room/toys as required by policy and/or as needed.
  • Maintain records, including case notes, progress notes, and program data
  • Complete program data sheets as required;
  • Submit mileage, time, and billing records accurately and within established guidelines;
  • Document progress for assigned individuals in accordance with personcentered plan;
  • Complete necessary progress reports prior to end of shift;
  • Complete sentinel reporting requirements prior to end of shift.
  • Effectively communicate with coworkers, supervisors, persons served, funding source representatives, parents/guardians, clinicians and others within the home and community
  • Demonstrate professionalism when representing H.G.A. or persons served
  • Communicate notable events
  • Maintain respectful communication to promote a positive working environment

Qualifications/ Experience

  • Qualifications/Experience Minimum of 18 years of age Degree in psychology, special education, or other related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree Completion of Mandatory Training upon hire Be able to communicate expressively and receptively Valid Michigan Driver's License Proof of clean driving record check Must be able to pass criminal background check Must be able to pass preemployment physical Experience working with children

Employees in this position are required to run after program participants, up to 500 feet, repeatedly and frequently. Home based services are delivered in a variety of settings and can include homes that are not accessible, containing animals and other allergens.
