JOB SUMMARY:
The Community Health Educator is responsible for the implementation of the assigned region's community education programs and activities which can include education and training, outreach, and other community services and programs.
The Community Health Educator is an integral part of the Community Engagement Department to implement evidence-based programs within the Education Team.
This is a hybrid position that can work from the Thousand Oaks location.Service Region:
Ventura County
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Implement affiliate's approved sexual health education programming with fidelity, including evidenceinformed and internal program curricula
- Schedule and deliver medically accurate, ageappropriate, traumainformed, inclusive, and developmentally, culturally, and linguisticallyappropriate sexual health education to groups of varying ages, cultures, identities, and backgrounds, with an increased focus on lowresource communities
- Aid in the development and updating of curricula and community resources under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Education
- Promote awareness of the availability of reproductive and sexual health services at local Family PACT health centers, including Planned Parenthood, and make appropriate referrals
- Participate in evaluation and data tracking activities that assess the quality of programming, measuring impact, and for grant reporting
- In conjunction with the Philanthropy Department and the Director of Education, develop and prepare narrative sections of grant proposals and reports as assigned
- Attend Community Engagement Department and affiliatewide training and meetings, which may be held anywhere within the affiliate's 3county service area
- Attend local, regional, and national events, meetings, and networks as assigned
- Other job duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Fluent (verbal and writing) English and Spanish language skills are preferred. Mixteco language skills is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, including writing and public speaking
- Prior knowledge or experience in reproductive health, sexuality, outreach, and/or education
- Travel is required and must have a valid CA driver's license, reliable automobile transportation, and insurance in accordance with California DMV requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Anthropology, Public Health, or a related field; or related work/volunteer experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience providing presentations on sexual and reproductive health issues or other health topics a plus
- Experience with reproductive health and justice issues a plus
vision, and values. Each position has a salary based on market value and the organization's pay levels.
The starting salary for this position is $26.53/hour with an opportunity for an increase after six months of employment.

Pay Differential:
$1.00/hour bilingual Spanish/English differential pay is offered upon passing the language assessment test.
