Overview
This is a full-time 40 hour/week, fully remote position. #LI-Remote


Responsibilities

  • Ensures DH system wide benefit plans are administered according to plan design, requirements and/or regulations, including compliance requirements are timely and delivered for all plans.
  • Manages the Manager, Benefit Operations in benefits planning, formulating procedures and policies and coordinating activities and training. Ensures collaboration with other HR functions regarding procedures, issue resolution and training.
  • Serves as the DH system organizational expert on benefit plans and issues.
  • Partners with the Manager Benefit Operations on system wide operations of benefit programs including pension, retirement, health and welfare, life insurance, disability, as well as statutory benefits for all employees.
  • Analyzes and evaluates utilization of all system wide benefit programs, identifying actual or potential problems, activity trends, and implementing change.
  • Designs and develops new benefits and programs to respond to organizational, employee and competitive concerns. Produces cost/justification data and ROI information for executive decision making.
  • Audits the performance of benefit providers and consultants. Manages vendors to ensure maximum service delivery and cooperation from vendors.
  • Conducts comparative benefit surveys to assess DH's competitive position and recommend modification.
  • Negotiates with vendors to ensure appropriate pricing of contracts, and monitors implementation of contracts, thereby ensuring agreed upon services are provided.
  • Plans, develops, and advises the budget of all system wide benefits programs. Develops annual departmental expense and capital budget recommendations.
  • Designs, implements, and/or ensures effective training for staff within benefit team to ensure functional and technical expertise. Ensures benefits staff and system HR Directors keep abreast of changes and trends in benefits administration and regulations. Ensures benefits staff understands its benefits plans and documents.
  • Provides staff with regular performance feedback, completes employee reviews in a timely manner, and conducts quarterly checkins and yearly performance evaluations.
  • Ensures systems, procedures, and policies are documented, operational, understood by benefits staff and shared services team members.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 8 years of related experience with 5 years of direct benefits management experience, including demonstrated ability to administer and manage comprehensive Benefit plans and programs, or the equivalent in education and experience required.
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Experience in Benefit Plan Administration and Communication Programs required.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills required.
