Job Summary - Temporary Clerk for 8 Month Contract:
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments. Prepare outgoing shipments, including packing, labeling, and arranging for transportation.
Process orders accurately and efficiently using shipping software or company systems. Ensure that orders are picked, packed, and shipped in accordance with company standards and customer requirements.
Maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking stock levels and conducting regular inventory counts. Notify appropriate personnel of low stock levels or discrepancies.
Inspect products for quality and accuracy before shipment. Identify any damaged or defective items and report them to the appropriate department.
Prepare shipping documents, such as bills of lading, shipping labels, and customs paperwork. Ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and filed appropriately.
Communicate with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to coordinate shipments and resolve any issues or delays. Provide updates on shipment status as needed.
Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Stay informed about shipping regulations and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, and to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fastpaced environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity for handling small items and operating equipment.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and conditions.
