Washington Behavioral Medicine Associates (WBMA) seeks a compassionate and dedicated medical assistant to join our team.As a vital member of our medical staff, you will play a crucial role, among other things, in administering Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and providing support for esketamine therapy.

Responsibilities:
- Administer TMS and assist with esketamine therapy under the physician's guidance, adhering to specified protocols.
- Review and document each patient's medication/treatment administration details, accommodating provider preferences.
- Monitor and document all TMS and esketamine therapy aspects to ensure patient wellbeing and maintain clinical accuracy.
- Record patient vitals per esketamine protocol and fully document the encounter.
- Provide and collect Spravato Informed Consent forms before the induction of any esketamine therapy.
- Submit REMS Monitoring forms following each esketamine therapy.
- Administer rating scales to benchmark treatment progress and ensure continuity of care.
- Deliver exceptional patient care consistently, demonstrating empathy, building trust, employing reflective listening, and supporting a vulnerable patient population.
- Document all treatment session notes and relevant information in the Electronic Health Record (AthenaHealth), collaborating effectively with other team members.
- Schedule patient consultations and visits to optimize workflow efficiency.
- Maintain a working knowledge of general insurance and billing procedures to support related workflows.
- Obtain prior authorization for TMS and esketamine therapy.
- Obtain medication prior authorization, ensuring seamless access to prescribed treatments.
- Coordinate medication refill requests, working closely with patients to facilitate timely and accurate replenishment of medications.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience with TMS and esketamine therapy administration is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a teamoriented environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Proficient in general computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google G Suite.
- Basic knowledge of health insurance plans.
Working In-Person Hours:
- Monday through Friday, with an 8hour shift scheduled between 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, located in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Occasional weekend days may be needed.
Compensation:
- $23 to $24 per hour based on education and work history.
