Intermediate Designer for ou
r Boston studio.

The Intermediate Designer, working under general supervision of a Senior Designer or Project Manager, provides design support primarily in project administration, presentations, concept design through design development, and contract documents.


Specific responsibilities will include:


  • Works with team to develop architectural concepts for interior and exterior repositioning and/ or adaptive projects
  • Works with team to develop design ideas and create both presentation and construction drawings
  • Drafts technical drawings
  • Provide review of engineering and landscape drawings to ensure they comply with design solution.
  • With Senior Designer, researches and selects fixtures and finishes to use for projects
  • Ensures integration into overall design
  • Preliminary concept plans for larger projects
  • May develop and finalize conceptual design for smaller projects
  • Oversees Intermediate Designer to review space plans and tackles more complicated issues
  • Provides detail for interior and architectural design projects
  • Develops and delivers overall design and furniture packages for both interior and exterior
  • Assists in developing packages for larger projects
  • Obtains cost estimates and produces final cost estimates
  • May be required to assist with support for field surveys
  • Oversee tasks and provide feedback on work product

Qualifications:


  • Graduate of architecture or design school: equivalent experience may be substituted
  • 3+ years' experience in workplace design, focusing on building repositioning and adaptive reuse projects as well as corporate interior

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Knowledge of design principles, workplace trends and aesthetics
  • Knowledge of repositioning and adaptive ruse projects
  • Advanced knowledge of space planning
  • Knowledge of furnishings and finishes
  • Knowledge of concepts of furniture layout
  • Sketching and rendering skills
  • Architecture detailing skills
  • Knowledge of CDs and procedures
  • Knowledge of building systems, codes and ADA requirements
  • Intermediate MS Office Suite skills
  • Strong Revit skills
  • Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills
