- Demonstrate clinical responsibility for the assessment of the pre-operative patient including history & physicals, review of lab results, EKG's, medical/cardiology clearances and other health information as needed.
- Address all clinical concerns/questions regarding patient readiness for surgery with the appropriate disciplines/individuals.
- Ensure that all appropriate documentation is available at the time of surgery.
- Be available to patient families and staff working in Ambulatory Surgery, as a clinical and educational resource.
- Function as a liaison between admitting, anesthesia, surgery and nursing staff.
- Work closely with the Assistant Director of Nursing for Ambulatory Surgery to manage change and implement systems to improve patient flow.
- Investigate best practices for Pre-Admission Testing and coordinates their implementation in the area.
- Collaborate with Senior Associate Administrator to develop a comprehensive performance program.
- Actively participate in meetings/committees.
- Function as Team Leader in the PAT area, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- New York State Nurse Practitioner Licensure.
- Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees in Nursing.
- 7+ years of post licensure experience, to include 5 years of progressive management/supervisory experience.
