Take on important tasks before and during surgery in Martinsburg

In the operating room, every move must be precise. As an Operating Room Assistant, you will work side by side with surgeons during surgical procedures, carefully and calmly passing the correct instruments such as scalpels or clamps. Before the actual surgery, you will prepare the operating room and ensure that instruments and equipment are functional, as well as making sure that other sterile and non-sterile materials are readily available. After the surgery, you will care for the patients and handle the operation and patient documentation, ensuring that all steps are traceable.

The tasks in the multiprofessional team, consisting of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and Operating Room Assistants, are diverse and highly demanding. Everyone must be able to rely on each other.

Tasks in detail:

Expert care for patients, taking into account their physical and psychological situation during their stay in the operating and functional departments

Independent organization and coordination of work processes in the functional departments such as emergency room, endoscopy, and central sterilization in cooperation with medical and nursing staff

Preparation and post-preparation of the operating room

Planning, preparation, and execution of upcoming surgeries, including providing the necessary instruments, equipment, and consumables
