Job Summary:
The Assistant Branch Manager is responsible for the branch's day-to-day operations and serves as a generalist in all managerial and administrative functions.
Plans organizes and assists in controlling the facility through effective communication, support, guidance, and training of all personnel.Duties and Responsibilities:
This position is considered a safety-sensitive position.
All actions, responsibilities, and job duties must be performed in a safe manner in accordance with the company's safety policies and procedures.
- Act as a backup to the Branch Manager and assume all responsibilities of the Branch Manager in his/her absence.
- Manage all AR customer bill payment and customer prepayment accounts.
- Receive all store purchase orders and confirm coinciding sales documents.
- Oversee all direct tile purchase orders for the branch.
- Ship/Receive all transfer shipments pertaining to the branch.
- Responsible for all driver trip reports and equipment inventory as needed by corporate.
- Responsible for all cash reports and banking in the course of daily business.
- Takes a direct approach in the training and mentoring of new employees.
- All other duties as assigned.
Education and Work Experience:
- An associate's degree (2year degree) or equivalent; 25 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and experience in the construction industry are highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Working Conditions:
- Ability to perform all job functions in a safe and efficient manner consistent with safety policies and procedures.
- Must be able to wear all personal protective gear that is required when needed.
- Ability to work at a computer for long periods, sitting most of the time.
- Able to communicate effectively, focus on the customer, collaborate with others, solve problems creatively, and demonstrate high integrity.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, crawl, and reach.
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds often, up to 25 pounds occasionally, and up to 50 pounds on occasion.
- During the working day, the employee may be exposed to various materials, fumes, odors, loud noises, chemicals, and dust.
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
