ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW


To utilize dirt bike culture to end the cycle of poverty, disrupt the prison pipeline, and build bridges in communities.

Our goal is to create better pathways in STEM/careers with local talent and programmatic solutions to non-violent offenses and direct investment into Black communities.


The Sound of Summer (SOS) Camp is an annual experience that introduces participants to the engineering design process and dirt bike mechanics by learning to fix and ride dirt bikes.

Participants become first aid certified, Stop the bleed certified, and CPR trained as well as complete indoor classes to learn the engineering design process.

Think of a school setting based on the love of dirt bikes that unities campers as young as 4 years old

For campers, SOS Camp operates June 2- August 16| Tuesday - Friday |10AM -3PM for campers.

Session 1 :
June 2- July 5

Session 2:
July 1- July 26

Session 3:
August - August 16


Please Note:
Staff report 8:30 AM - 5:PM Tuesday - Friday; Monday is virtual admin days; and later days may be needed based on the needs of summer camp



JOB DESCRIPTION
B-360 is seeking a seasoned, well-equipped person who loves education to run our Sound of Summer Camp.

As the Summer Camp Program Manager you will act as the principal of the "school" and have exceptional organizational and people management skills to balance the beauty of providing education to campers and managing staff that range from youth instructors to adults.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Management/Operations (70%)

  • Know and be able to articulate the mission, vision and goals of SOS Camp /B360
  • Maintain quality assurance of educational programming
  • Maintain quality assurance of safety protocols
  • Maintain quality assurance for risk management
  • Maintain quality assurance of riding standards
  • Support the recruitment of interns /volunteers
  • Manage SOS Staff ( youth instructors, adult staff, interns and volunteers) daily performance of their jobs to maintain the camp schedule and their roles/responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively with Operations Engineer to ensure the dirt bike area is set up, organized, and maintained properly, as well as ensure equipment is properly stored.
  • Work collaboratively with Lead Instructor and STEM teachers to maintain the classroom space is set up, organized, neat and equipment properly maintained daily
  • Maintain camper and parent relationships
  • Create trainings/outings needed to maintain the team morale, to boost quality assurance/effectiveness
Data Assessment and Educational Standards (30%)

  • Work collaboratively with the Lead Instructor to ensure the summer camp curriculum and lesson plans are complete and effectively implemented daily
  • Ensure daily attendance, weekly attendance, and survey data is reported in a timely manner
  • Oversee the recruitment and registration process of campers before summer camp begins and during summer camp matriculation
  • Correspond with supporting the Executive Team to ensure site visits are scheduled and reports are submitted on time to partners and funders.
  • Ensure the summer program milestones/goals are met and adheres to approved budgets

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience
  • 3 Years experience Working In Schools/Education ; Supervisory Experience
  • Excellent in communication, Google Drive, Data Management /Excel, Conflict Resolution, Student and Parent Relationships
  • Preferred knowledge of Asana and Homebase
  • Must be a Visionary, Have A Creative Mindset, An Independent Worker, Solution
  • Oriented, Able To Pass A Criminal Background Check

TIMELINE AND COMPENSATION

  • Salary: $3340/hr commensurate with experience level.

Compensation $33-40/hr
