    Assumes full responsibility on the shift for all activities, subordinates, and equipment in the Molding Department, as well as for the orderly operation of each piece of equipment; oversees all floor personnel assigned to their shift.

    The employee also has the obligation and authority to complete all tasks assigned.
    B. Responsibilities
    The Molding Manager is directly responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

    • Ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed.
    • Ensure that all safety policies are followed and that commonsense prevails at all times.
    • Promote and foster team spirit and communication with co-workers and other departments.
    • Maintain and promote the QUALITY POLICY and workmanship standards.
    • Maintain a neat appearance and work area at all times.
    • Comes to work prepared with appropriate clothing.
    • Be accountable for business metrics (safety, quality, production requirements, and
    • cost control)
    • Implement and sustain Lean principles
    • Establish work plan and staffing schedules
    • Identify, hire, and train technicians and associates as well as advise subordinates
    in all aspects of their work, from simple to complex tasks

    • Accountability of supervisors for enforcing safety rules and implementing the necessary training and corrective actions to ensure proper focus on established objectives
    • Deliver high quality products on time, within established budgetary standards
    • Ensure housekeeping standards are set and maintained
    • Establishing plant-wide measurable and goals that meet or exceed industry standards, and are monitored, tracked and audited on a regular basis and communicated to employees.
    • Inspect auxiliary equipment and log problems on end of shift notes, if applicable.
    • Explore ways to enhance the manufacturing process
    • Manage and provide resources and support for continuous improvement activities as they relate to manufacturing processes, safety, product quality and all other functions
    • Provide leadership on problem solving. Where special actions are necessary, responsible to ensure that all departments involved are properly informed
    • Responsible for maintaining positive employee relations including fostering an open communications climate, effective resolution of employee concerns and consistent application of company policy
    • As necessary, set-up and monitor secondary operations at machines
    • Ensures work instructions are up to date and being adhered to
    • Issue employee warning notice to personnel when company rules, regulations and standards are not followed.
    • Follow procedures in IQ to monitor scrap, standards, productivity and machine utilization.
    • BE ON TIME, BE COURTEOUS AND BE KNOWLEDGEABLE
    C. Accountabilities

    • Will oversee that the Production Supervisors hand over the shift to the next Supervisor in a condition as good as or better than it was at the beginning of their shift, as evidenced by the oncoming shift Supervisor's approval.
    • Will ensure that housekeeping rules are followed and enforced, as evidenced by random walk through and manager audits.
    • Explore ways to enhance the manufacturing process
    including performing of DOEs, creation of processes including set up, molding and work instructions.

    • Will confirm that Production Tracking Reports are accurately completed, as evidenced from random manager audits and Planning Departments input.
    • Will ensure that Malfunctioning equipment is reported to the responsible department's Supervisor or Manager, as evidenced from equipment repair forms filled-out and submitted.
    • Will ensure that parts are molded to IQ standard cycle time, as evidenced by IQ Report. (Meeting 99% cycle efficiency tracking report.)
    • Will ensure that the reject rate is less than 2%, as evidenced by daily reject tracking report.
    • Will ensure that only acceptable parts are produced and packaged, as evidenced by production tracking report and customer returns or complaints.
    • Will ensure that assigned personnel have performed their duties, as evidenced by production tracking report.
    D. Organization Relationships

    • Good people skills. Must be able to communicate well with others, to lead, and to foster teamwork and cooperation, and a positive work environment.
    • Must strive for continuous improvement, and to be efficient, dependable and consistent
    • Must be able to interact in a professional manner with management and co-workers.

    The Shift Supervisor, regardless of other duties, has a direct responsibility to the Molding Manager, to follow the company's quality and safety procedures.

    E. On the Job Training

    • ISO forms and procedures
    • IQMS database training.
    • Raw Materials Identification
    • Maintain housekeeping.
    • Emergency procedure and accident report procedure.

    Education/Special Knowledge:

    • Bachelors Degree in related field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience
    B. Technical Requirements

    • Must have knowledge of tooling and processing methods in all areas of fabricated parts and components.
    C. Experience

    • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, as well as, strong organization skills
    • Must have a minimum of five (5) years experience in injection molding and troubleshooting
    • Four (4) Supervisory experience preferably in a plastic molding injection environment
    • Personal computer skills
    D. Language Skills

    • The Shift Supervisor must be able to communicate clearly, as well as understand how to read and write English.
    E. Physical Requirements
