SUMMARY
Under direction from the department attorneys, this position is responsible for researching legal issues, investigating facts, and preparing documents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares legal documents for review, approval, and use by department attorneys and internal clients and CRF clients.
Works with department attorneys to draft and proofread contracts, create template agreements.
Enter into, track, and followup on contract negotiations.
Research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, treatises, etc.
Assist with the large volume of contract work associated with clinical research trials.
Prepares and maintains document files.
Files correspondence and legal documents in office filing system.
Ensures proper indexing and filing of original legal documents.
Participates in a wide variety of special projects and compiles a variety of special reports.
Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

years relevant experience required; contract drafting experience preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, and Outlook.
Excellent communication and writing skills, patience, professionalism, and ability to effectively interact with staff and management.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
