SUMMARY
Under direction from the department attorneys, this position is responsible for researching legal issues, investigating facts, and preparing documents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepares legal documents for review, approval, and use by department attorneys and internal clients and CRF clients.
- Works with department attorneys to draft and proofread contracts, create template agreements.
- Enter into, track, and followup on contract negotiations.
- Research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, treatises, etc.
- Assist with the large volume of contract work associated with clinical research trials.
- Prepares and maintains document files.
- Files correspondence and legal documents in office filing system.
- Ensures proper indexing and filing of original legal documents.
- Participates in a wide variety of special projects and compiles a variety of special reports.
- Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication and writing skills, patience, professionalism, and ability to effectively interact with staff and management.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
