Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in providing safe patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. They deliver direct patient care within their scope of practice, oversee patient/family education, and coordinate the activities of other nursing staff while upholding care standards in the ICU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible for their assigned patients' well-being and effectively communicates with physicians regarding changes in patients' clinical status, test results, symptoms, and responses to treatment. Upholding patient privacy and confidentiality is paramount.
