    Sr. Procurement Category Manager, Indirect Spend

    Scion is paving a path in student living and we're seeking an innovative Senior Procurement Category Manager, Indirect Spend with knowledge and experience in sourcing & category management, vendor & product selection.

    This individual will specialize in implementing cost-effective purchasing of all goods and services, as required by the company.

    Ensuring quality control and adhering to the company's policies and procedures on supply chain management will be some of your main priorities when carrying out this role.

    This position is based out of our central office in Chicago, IL.

    Sr. Procurement Category Manager, Indirect Spend Responsibilities
    Developing and providing input to procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
    Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and service providers.

    Participating and leading data-driven vendor analyses and compiling vendor evaluation data in presentable formats for distribution to stakeholders and leadership.

    Interact with suppliers and vendors, serve as a point of escalation between vendors and Scion stakeholders, and ensure consistency, quality and value of vendor services.

    Reviewing and maintaining existing contracts and programs with suppliers and vendors to support organizational value, quality and risk standards.
    Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
    Performing vendor cost-benefit analyses, providing input to Scion's KPI and SLA standards, and scorecards for vendors.
    Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
    Providing input to the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
    Preparing procurement reports from P2P and ERP systems.
    The responsibilities listed above may not be all inclusive.
    Qualifications

    5+ years experience in Sourcing and Procurement; evaluating, contracting, managing large, national and regional suppliers, delivering value aligned to operational delivery and category strategies.

    Direct experience in multifamily residential, student housing or commercial construction related categories is a plus.
    Experience providing input to vendor SLA's and KPI's.
    Experience working with a SaaS P2P platform (Coupa, Kissflow, Procurify, Procurex, Symphony, etc.). Specific experience with Coupa (P2P, Sourcing, Contract Management) is a plus.
    5+ years of experience in managing vendor relationships and contracts.
    Strong analytical capabilities, ability to think strategically, and learn and process new information quickly.
    Experience utilizing the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) in a professional setting.
    Strong organization skills and background and use of Project/Program Management tools and methodology (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, etc.).

    Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to confidently and professionally articulate ideas and concepts at all organizational levels.

    Proven ability to handle multiple tasks without direct supervision, while paying strong attention to detail and follow-up.

    A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, however additional direct experience in Sourcing and Procurement in lieu of a degree will be considered.
