RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specialists for warehouse logistics ensure that millions of goods reach all over the world. And this is done according to a system that is economically, timely and smoothly functioning.
As a specialist for warehouse logistics, you are responsible for the acceptance of goods and check whether the quantity and quality are correct based on the documents. You organize the unloading and proper storage of the goods. In addition to incoming goods, there is also outgoing goods. Here, you ensure in the picking process that the deliveries are put together, receive their accompanying documents and leave the warehouse.
In addition to practical work in the warehouse, specialists for warehouse logistics are also involved in organization and optimization: Can the warehouse system be improved? Are there better sources for certain goods? When do you need to reorder to ensure timely arrival?
The daily work as a specialist for warehouse logistics is varied: It is not just about physically loading goods, but also about transport with material handling equipment (such as forklifts) and working with computers and handheld devices. Depending on the warehouse, you may operate special machines to pick the goods. Other warehouses are highly automated, so you mainly monitor and supervise. However, in some companies, you may need to plan and be more hands-on.
